Description:

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Test Engineer to join the NVIDIA-Cumulus Linux Verification Engineering Team in Bangalore. In this critical network engineering role, you will lead the qualification and validation of the Network Operating System (NOS) software that powers next-generation, software-defined data centers accelerated for high-performance computing and AI workloads. You will take complete ownership of defining intricate test topologies, executing functional validation for complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols on NVIDIA-Mellanox Spectrum series Ethernet switches, and developing robust, automated regression test suites using Python to ensure rapid product stability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience) combined with 5+ years of proven software quality engineering experience.
  • Strong, hands-on engineering experience testing and troubleshooting core Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking standards (including MLAG, STP, OSPF, BGP, and EVPN).
  • High level of programming proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages to build, scale, and maintain continuous functional regression frameworks.
  • Direct experience utilizing high-end network traffic generation and analysis hardware/software tools from Ixia or Spirent, alongside standard test management suites.
  • Advanced working comfort navigating, configuring, and triaging software bugs inside Unix or Linux-based operating systems.
  • Ability to participate in architectural design reviews, compose detailed system test plans, log bugs inside defect tracking systems, and validate complex software workarounds.
  • Relevant professional networking certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP), performance bottleneck troubleshooting capabilities, and exposure to CI/CD ecosystems (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins).
